Brown Sugar

Okay, so I have/had a problem today. I wanted to make Cinnamon rolls for a sister in the Branch that I visit teach. She had foot surgery last Friday. So I made the dough and let it rise. When it was time to roll it out and add the butter and brown sugar-cinnamon mixture on it I realized ALL my brown sugar was as hard as a rock. I looked for my extra bag and it too was hard. OOOHHHH! What was I going to do? I did not want to run to the store and buy more so I thought. I know if I put a piece of bread in the container it will put moisture back in the sugar but that takes like 2 days. I need it NOW!!!!

Ahhh Haaaa! What if I put some of the brown sugar in a bowl and microwave it? Well, I did just that. I put it in for 1 minute then mixed it up then back in for another minute. Took it out and it was soft to the touch. All I had to do was loosen up the chunks.

So now you know how to soften brown sugar.

Have a great weekend! :o)

  1. I read taht if you put a slice of bread in a sealed contianer with hard brown sugar, it will soften right up.
    Good Luck!

  2. Hey! Thanks for visiting my blog the other day! I totally think you should paint any and all laminate countertops to be granite look a likes ;) Thanks for the tip about brown sugar! Also if you just throw half a slice of bread in when you open the bag the first time then seal tightly it wouldn't get hard for a very very long time ;)
