The tools are there in your house waiting to be used. Paper (decorated or not), cutter, scissors, glue and of course the phone book... WHAT? The phone book? Yes, that is what I said. we all get these several times a year and what is on them? Refrigerator magnets. A ha! The lightening bolt struck I saw it....
Cut your paper to your desired width. Mine is 2 inches.
Next, take that magnet off the phone book and cut it into squares using your scissors.
You should be able to get like 6 to 8 squares out of each magnet. That way you can make a bookmark for everyone in the family..... :O)
Next, put glue on the side of the magnet with the writing.
And attach the magnet to the back side of your 2 inch strip of paper.
And attach the magnet to the back side of your 2 inch strip of paper.
Then fold your paper over and meet the edges and make a crease.
Open the paper strip back up and put glue on the other square magnet and place MAGNET sides together...
Then fold your paper back and line up the edges again and press down on the magnets to make sure the glue sticks.

Very cute! I usually use a post-it note because I hate losing my bookmark, too (although not from kids), but this is much prettier :)
ReplyDeleteI love magnetic bookmarks! (I also frequently use post-its because they don't fall out). Unfortunately I still have a little guy that loves to remove any and all bookmarks from any book he sees whether they stick or not! These make fabulous gifts too, great to personalize!
